Dr. Hugo and Miriam Gomez

FEBRUARY 2023

Dr. Hugo Gomez and his wife Miriam Gomez started serving in 1983 at a medical clinic, that was operated by the National Presbyterian Church Health Program, in the highlands of West Guatemala. By invitation, Dr. Gomez and Miriam Gomez were asked to come work with the Medical Ambassadors International (MIA), by 1984 they were working full time with MIA, doing community Health Evangelism (CHE) among the Mam and Quiche Indigenous people living in villages scattered throughout Western Guatemala. In 1995 Dr. Gomez was appointed to oversee the entire Meso-American Region. Global CHE Enterprises was formed in 2009, and today the work of Dr. Gomez and Global CHE includes ministry in 8 countries in Meso-America.  Dr. Gomez and Miriam lead a team of 45 staff and over 575 active volunteers, and 52 villages, they are teaching the people they encounter how to become followers of Jesus, and whole communities are being lifted up, there have been 25 new Church’s planted. First Baptist Church of Pine has worked with Dr. Gomez for well over a decade, with his leadership on many mission trips to the villages. We have helped with Medical and Dental supplies, construction needs, youth ministry, and so much more. Please pray with us as we take on Global CHE – ( Dr. Gomez) for one of our newest missionaries. Pray that God continues to bless this ministry, also pray for Miriam Gomez, as she has had some health problems, and their daughter Christa as she had surgery on her spine, and that she will continue to heal back to full health.
