July 2025
Hello Friends!
We’re having our usual hot summer here. So thought I’d cook up a few quick updates on my life and ministry!
- My summer has been “highlighted” by an emergency retinal reattachment surgery on June 17! I was in NC on a last minute visit to see my mom, who had been hospitalized (back at her home now). While visiting her in the hospital I thought I should get an issue with my vision checked. The hospital’s eye clinic took me in that day for an exam, and recommended surgery that very day. I got as close to the operation as a pre-op IV and a meeting with the anesthesiologist and eye surgeon. But after additional information about recovery, I decided to fly home the next day to get the surgery done in AZ so I could recover here. God enabled all things to work out! My summer of wild and crazy activities has been severely curtailed. Pretty sedentary (for those who know me you understand my struggle!) for a couple of months for recovery.
- Our ASU-Poly crew continues to meet weekly during the summer months. We are studying Ephesians and Galatians so we’re having some exciting discussions. President Trump leads those discussions. (Oh, that’s Jacob Trump, our Affiliate Staff and club president.) A mid-summer pool party and overnight at our home in July was fun for all.
- I have accepted some additional responsibilities with Missions Door. I’ve been assigned to be the Director o Ministries US/Canada West. It will involve the oversight of our non-campus western US missionaries, primarily through three regional overseers in AZ, WY and WA. I am excited to be able to work with theses great folks who do amazing ministries, and to help shape more of the overall direction of Missions Door.
Thanks for your prayers. Ministry on campus at Poly starts August 20 with our ‘Welcome Back’ volleyball tournament. If you are in the area and want to help, let me know. We can use all the help we can get!
Richest blessings to you all!

Hello Ministry Partners –
I trust you are enjoying a fabulous spring and looking forward to a great summer. We are!
Ministry here has gone very well the last few months. Here are a few quick updates and prayer requests –
- Locally, the outreach to the ASU-Poly campus continues to remain strong. NG, EB and AR have been baptized…(I meet weekly with NG and EB for discipleship…. YC prayed to give his life to Jesus…the small group Bible study I help lead (actually led primarily by our student Intern Jacob) has grown and we’ve enfolded several new freshmen into the group…Wednesday night large group meetings have been well attended with several new folks plugging in this semester…our leadership team has 4 new freshmen involved and they are growing. Please PRAY for Josh and myself and our leaders as we meet soon to plan for summer and fall ministry. PRAY too for several others we are challenging to follow Jesus.
- Over Spring Break in early March a team of 4 of us traveled to San Pedro Sula, Honduras to help train and encourage some students, missionaries and pastors there as they seek to start campus outreaches through Missions Door. AMAZING TRIP!!! We spent about 10 hours training potential leaders, led ministry meetings (Bible studies, games, fellowship) on 3 campuses, and met many students. We met key university administrators and officials at each campus and every one was so very grateful we were there, one even asking “When can you start Campus Ambassadors here?” PRAY that God will raise up staff and student leaders or these campuses and that key Missions Door folks would have wisdom in how to best move forward.
- In addition to the Honduras trip, as Regional Team Director o AZ and Mexico, I recently visited our staff and ministries in Mexico. Please PRAY for Mark in Guadalajara and Elohim, Noe and Adami in Hermosillo as they reach out to those who don’t know Jesus.Thank for all you do in enabling me to be here doing my part in seeing student’s lives changed by the power of Jesus! I could not be here without your prayers and financial partnership!
Richest blessings to you all!

Happy 2025 Everyone!
Just a few quick notes about our lives this past year –
- Multiple trips were made to Washington and North Carolina to help care for our moms- Melody’s mother is 92 and Myke’s mother is 98. We are so very grateful God has given them long lives so they can continue to parent us and love us and pray for us.
- Blaire Eden, our granddaughter turned one in October. Rachel is finishing up all her requirements to become a clinical therapist. Matthew still works in the financial office of Embark and manages his rental properties.
- Melody continues to enjoy retirement and Myke still enjoys pretending he’s 21 and a perpetual college student! We are healthy and happy and excited to see what God has in store for us this year!
Richest blessings to you all!

Ministry Focus
After graduating from college in electrical engineering, Myke served a two-year missionary term in Kenya. It was there that Myke first considered career ministry. He says, “We serve an awesome God! My passion is to see students’ lives changed by the power of Jesus, and to plant and strengthen college ministries that help facilitate that change. “I want to see students encounter Jesus, be empowered by the Holy Spirit, and become equipped to minister while at college, in the local church, and after graduation.” Myke directs the ministry at Arizona State University – Polytechnic Campus and serves as an Area Coach for Arizona and Mexico.
